MAHA (Maryland Arabian Horse Association)
http://www.marylandarabian.com/
Contact via E-Mail
In 1996, a group of horse enthusiasts joined together to form a riding club. They wanted to show that the Arabian horse can be used for many different activities, such as trail, endurance, hunter/jumper, dressage, parades, and carriage driving. Maryland Arabian Horse Association holds an occasional clinic in winter when it's too cold to ride, organized trailrides during warmer months at various state parks in Charles, St. Mary's, Prince Georges, and Calvert county. Your horse doesn't need to be an Arabian; Horseless members are also welcome! Members gather for the annual FunDay show, clinics, and sport horse/dressage shows, trailrides, trail maintenance volunteering, parades, picnics, and fundraisers for rescued horses.

The Marlborough Horse Trials is a nonprofit equestrian event designed to preserve Rosaryville State Park, Upper Marlboro, MD and promote Southern Maryland. The Rosaryville Conservancy formed us. We also work with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. The Marlborough Horse Trials is an equestrian triathlon of dressage, stadium jumping, and cross-country jumping, held annually. Other events are held throughout the year at the Park. Proceeds raised go toward managing the event, developing the course, and maintaining the Park. We have also donated to the Reeve-Irvine Research Center to help advance research on spinal injury. This is a fun wholesome event for the family--competing horses, hiking, picnicking, etc. in the Park. The MHT is a nationally sanctioned event that draws riders from the Mid-Atlantic region. Volunteers are based in MD. The MHT is the only event of this kind in Southern Maryland.

The mission of the Maryland Saddle Association, Inc. is to serve as an organization that creates a supportive learning environment where riders, regardless of age, skill level, gender, and physical and mental ability, can reach their potential as capable and competent equestrians. The Maryland Saddle Association seeks to reach out to all segments of our diverse community, and bring together, under uniform rules, people sharing a mutual interest in the showing of all types of horses. Through our volunteer organization, we hope to develop and implement a quality horse show series that provides fun, hands-on learning, and actively promotes horses and horsemanship within the state of Maryland to the benefit of both the horse and rider.
