Southern Maryland Traditional Music and Dance (SMTMD) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) civic organization formed to preserve and promote the appreciation and performance of traditional and contemporary folk music and dance. SMTMD presents Concerts and acoustic Open Mic nights through the monthly HomeSpun CoffeeHouse series, as well as sponsoring a monthly Contra Dance. We are an all-volunteer, membership-supported organization. Many members provide talent and volunteer help at benefits and area events. Southern Maryland Youth Choir

The Southern Maryland Youth Choir was founded in 2014 and will begin its first season this fall. The group serves students in grades 2-8 in the tri-county area and is split into an elementary choir and middle school choir, both rehearsing weekly at the same time and location. SMYChoir welcomes all singers, including those with little-to-no musical background. Admission to the group requires an audition with one of the directors; it will be a low-stress opportunity for them to get to know you a little better in advance of the first rehearsal. Southern Maryland Youth Orchestra

The Southern Maryland Youth Orchestra was established in 2013 and serves talented middle-school and high-school instrumentalists in the tri-county area. The group provides an opportunity for students to play in a *full orchestra setting*; all string instruments and band instruments welcome to audition. SMYOrch plays at least two concerts a year; most seasons include additional performance opportunities. Come Play With Us!

The Sanford Concert Series offers informal and intimate recitals and performances ranging from choral to classical to jazz and blues - all in the acoustically superb sanctuary of one of the oldest churches in St. Mary's County. We are an all-volunteer organization which relies on Public Grants, Corporate Sponsorships and Individual Patrons who wish to enrich the musical environment of our community.
