Looking forward to attending the Oyster Festival this year. I originally saw a piece about it on the travel channel. It prompted me to search for it on the internet. Your web site is well done and informative. |

We traveled from Oklahoma, visited in Virginia, and we wanted to visit at your Ocean City beaches; but your welcoming committee changed our minds to get out of your state ASAP. Your welcoming stop on I-95 was impressive; however we were welcomed even before we got to that place by one of your State troopers waiting at your border to tell us that what we thought was a 65 MPH speed zone was really only 55 MPH and that he clocked us at 72 MPH upon which he issued us a ticket for $70.00. We then proceeded out of Maryland at posted speeds when we could assertain what your speed limits were, which is very difficult. Because at posted speeds every other vehicle on the road treated us as though we were parked. I have been driving for 57 years and this is my first speeding ticket in 34 years, I went to court for my ticket 34 years ago and was dismissed for that ticket. Needless to say I am very upset about this matter, mostly because of the way your State Troopers sit at the border waiting for any unsuspecting out of state driver, which prompts me to make a request of your State Legislature to adopt a new State Bird, instead of "Oriol" I would suggest "Vulture". We had a very nice time at Wildwood, New Jersey Payment of your ticket is now due but you will have to wait until after Sept. 3, as I am on limited Social Security. WARNING to all out of state drivers, "THE MARYLAND VULTURES ARE WAITING FOR YOU." Oklahoma does not tolerate speeding; but we do post our speed limits. We do support our Oklahoma Highway Patrol. |
