Edward George Pinno, 86, of Great Mills passed away on September 26, 2014 at the University of MD Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Born February 17, 1928 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin he was the son of Margaret and Edward E. Pinno. He was the youngest of four children, all who preceded him in death: Carroll Snyder, Eva Logan, and Gladys Schumacher.

He was married to Lillian (Mead) Pinno June 12, 1954 who preceded him in death. He is survived by Alma D. Pinno whom he married June 9, 1989. He is also survived by his five children: Krista Greenwell of Brunswick ,MD , Erin Pinno of Great Mills, Roger Pinno (DeAnna) of Hollywood, Bonnie McGee(Kevin) of Summerville ,SC and Keith Pinno (Debbie) of Charleston ,SC, 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Surviving step children are Dickie Norris of Texas, Carol Coombs and Roy Norris of Great Mills, Virginia Pilkerton (Jay) of Hollywood, Debra Norris of Park Hall, and Paul Norris (Sarah) of St. Mary's City, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Ed joined the US Navy in 1946 and was stationed at Patuxent River Naval Air Station and aboard the USS Little Rock. After attending business college, he returned to PatuxentRiver where he was employed at Public Works/ Supply until his retirement in 1983. He also worked part time during the 1960's at The Deli which was then located on Great Mills Road near Midway Drive.

Many will remember him as "Mr. Ed" who liked to ply everyone he met with 20 questions. He was the family's human GPS and enjoyed travel with many of his destinations reflective of his love of history. Ed was an avid sports fan and followed the Packers, Notre Dame, the Atlanta Braves (Chipper Jones) and the Orangemen of Syracuse. Other hobbies included music, bird watching, reading, gardening, coin and stamp collecting, and watching Bill O'Reilly and Huckabee on TV. He supported many charities including the local food bank and was instrumental in getting a pool for the Great Mills community. He was a member of HolyFaceChurch and the American Legion in Lusby. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

The family will receive friends on September 30 from 5:00-8:00 pm. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to the Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad or a special interest charity in Ed's name. Arrangements by the Brinsfield Funeral Home,P.A., Leonardtown,MD.
