Mary Rosalie Johnson Hayden, 86, of Bushwood, MD formerly from Medley's Neck, MD passed away on September 17, 2014 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on November 19, 1927 in Morganza, MD she was the daughter of the late Mary Rosalie Cooper Johnson and James Ernest Johnson.

Mary was the loving wife of the late James Milfred Hayden whom she married on March 28, 1948 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Bushwood, MD and who preceded her in death in Washington, DC on November 15, 2009.

Mary is survived by her sister Margaret Wheeler of Clements, MD and Bert Johnson of Leonardtown, MD. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Melvin Johnson, Cotton Johnson, Mildred Stone Adams, Henrietta Bean all of Hollywood, MD, Sonny Johnson, Freddie Johnson, Lillian Johnson, Elsie Stone and Ernest H. Johnson all of Leonardtown, MD, and Dickie Johnson of Maddox, MD. Mary was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, MD and was a homemaker, she enjoyed; gardening, boating, fishing, and cooking.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Bushwood, MD with Father Charles Cortinovis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers; Frankie Wheeler, Tim Wheeler, Chris Hayden, Eddie Hayden, Dale Tarleton. Contributions may be made to the Seventh District Rescue Squad P.O.
