Helen "Nanny Pep" Elsie Pepper, of La Plata, MD passed away on September 5, 2014. Helen was born to Chancy and Katherine Edwards on July 18 in Washington, DC.

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Lou. They married on June 22 and renewed their vows at the Washington National Cathedral on their 50th Anniversary.

Nanny Pep lived life with an openness that included everyone. She enjoyed laughter and passed that along to her children, daughter Teri Gay, son Timothy Lee (Teresa) and son Troy Allen (Yanti).

Her grandchildren were especially precious to her: Crystal (Matt), Robert (Sara), Ashley, Gabrielle and Juliette. Her great grandchildren were her pride and joy: Lucas, Camden, Colton, and newly arrived Skylar Isabelle-Elsie Pepper. She loved to spoil them, snuggle, play, read, cook, teach, sing and laugh with them.

She is survived by her sister Millie (David) and niece Mary. Family includes her sister-in-law Barbara, niece Gail, nephew Gary and sister-in-law Joan (Edgar) their son Stephen (Becky) and Gabriel.

Especially dear to her are the Ya Ya sisters, Gay, Linda, Happy, and Joanie. Along with special childhood friend Nancy and all the Debs. She leaves a legacy of fantastically fun times and endearing tenderness to many who crossed her path. The one and only Beautiful You.

Family and friends will be received to celebrate Helen's life during a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church - Piney Parish, 4535 Piney Church Road, Waldorf, MD.
