Francis "Frank" Marion Goode, 93, of Friendship, MD, formerly of New Carrollton died on March 3, 2008 at his home in Friendship, MD of natural causes.

Frank was born on his family farm on August 8, 1914 to George Perry and Mary Emily Gray Goode. He was raised there with his three brothers and three sisters. He attended St. Mary's School in Bryantown, MD.

He started working at the age of 16 as both a mechanic and an automotive parts salesman for the Miller-Dudley Company in both Washington, DC and later Beltsville until he retired at 63 to take care of his sister Ruth who had lived with polio since her childhood.

Frank was devoted to his sister Ruth and spent most of his time with her. With the little free time he had he enjoyed fishing and landscape gardening. Frank never married, but loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children.

Frank is survived by his nieces Jacqueline Lauer of Friendship, MD and Joan Shepherd of Lothian, MD; his nephew John E. Goode, Jr. of Lothian, MD; nine grand nieces and nephews and numerous great-grand nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Catherine Eliza Goode Hook, Mary Helen Goode, Margaret Ruth Goode; and his brothers George Perry Goode, Jr., Thomas Marcena Gray Goode and John Ellsworth Goode, Sr.

A Memorial Mass was offered on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Owensville Road in West River. Frank was buried at his family lot at Washington National Cemetery, Suitland, MD.
