Henry Allen Scoggins, of La Plata, Maryland, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Maryland Veterans Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was 87 years old. Born on December 7, 1926 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Lois Juenemann Isham and the late Henry Allen Scoggins.

Mr. Scoggins served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II and Korea before being Honorably Discharged. He employed by and retired from the telephone company specifically for A. T. & T. as mid-level management. He was a founding member of the Accokeek Rod and Gun Club and past member of the American Heritage Riders Club. At the age of 73, Mr. Scoggins received his Bachelor's Degree in Theology and was an ordained minister. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Anchor Baptist Church in La Plata.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Jane Marie Scoggins; his son Jefferson D. Scoggins; his brother William Scoggins.

He is survived by his wife Margaret L. Scoggins; daughters Thia Rose and her husband Tom Reising and Barbara Allen Scoggins; his sons Michael K. Scoggins and his wife Debra, John D. (Dan) Scoggins and his wife Deborah, Mitchell D. Scoggins and his wife Bonnie; his brother Herbert Isham and his wife Mary Rose; his sister-in-law Nina Scoggins; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 2PM to 4PM and from 6PM to 8PM with Funeral Services at 7PM at the Anchor Baptist Church, 10440 Crain Highway, Faulkner, MD 20632 with Pastor Robert T. Joseph officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11AM at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
