George Hoover Bussler, 78, of Leonardtown, MD died February 21, 2008 in Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD.

Born March 5, 1929 in Compton, MD, he was the son of the late George Edward Bussler and Violet Ching Bussler. He graduated from Margaret Brent High School and later joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his military service, Hoover was a police officer for the District of Columbia for two years and a Tidewater Fisheries Officer for the state of Maryland for two years before becoming a plumber. He remained in the plumbing field until his retirement.

Hoover is survived by his wife, June Brown Bussler of Leonardtown, MD, four sisters, Annie McCully of Leonardtown, MD, Mary Tennyson of Clements, MD, Katie Kozak of West Grove, PA, Claudia Mattingly of Compton, MD, two brothers, Francis Abell of Loveville, MD and C. Roger Bussler of Leonardtown, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Abell and Frank T. Abell.

The family will receive relatives and friends for Mr. Bussler's Life Celebration on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Life Celebration Chapel. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Reverend John Mattingly. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Living Word Church, Mechanicsville, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Wickman officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be James M. Brown, George R. Bussler, Roger B. Bussler, John F. Mattingly, John H. Mattingly, and John Wallace.
