Jean Avery Kinsey of Waldorf, MD died on June 18, 2014 at the Clinton Nursing Home. She was 74 years old.

Jean was a Security Supervisor with Andrews A.F.B. for 28 years and was a member of the New Hope A.M.E. Church in Waldorf, MD. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.

She is the daughter of the late Harold Lawson and the late Dorothy Jane Quantrell Lawson. She is also predeceased by her husband, James Harry Kinsey; her son Rodney Lawson; her daughter Chelli A. Kinsey; and her sister Francine Washington.

She is survived by her son Robert A. Cooper; her brothers Oscar Lawson and Anthony Lawson; her sisters Dons Camp and Sharon Vaughn; her grandchildren Shantyl Cooper, Robert A. Cooper II, and Lea Thompson; and her great-grandchildren Timothy Mason Jr., Antonio James Cooper, DeMarcus T. Mason, and Carter X. Dorsey.

Friends received on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 10AM until time for Funeral Service at 11AM at the New Hope A.M.E. Church, 12353 Washington Square, Waldorf, MD 20603. Interment at 1PM at the MD Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
