Gary "Jake" Wesley Lawrence, 69, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on May 9, 2014 at his residence. He was born on May 2, 1945 in Washington, DC to the late George Lawrence and the late Myrtle (Albert) Lawrence.

Gary worked at Atlantic Venetian Blind Company for 49 years as a shop foreman. He retired in 2010. He enjoyed working in his yard, crabbing, fishing and spending time with his family.

Gary is survived by his wife, Joanne Lawrence of Mechanicsville, MD; son, Gary Lawrence, Jr. of Lusby, MD; daughter, Tina Nevitt (Daniel) of Mechanicsville, MD; and three grandchildren, Melissa Nevitt, Kevin Lawrence, and Austin Lawrence.

Family and friends will be received for Gary's Memorial Life Celebration Gathering on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Memorial Service will begin at 7 PM on Thursday, here at the funeral home. Pastor Kevin Cullins will officiate.
