Jean Priscilla Brashears Reid, 77, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on April 27, 2014 at her residence. She was born on February 16, 1937 in Annapolis, MD to the late William Norris Brashears and the late Elizabeth Wayson Brashears.

Jean is survived by her sons, William R. Reid, III (Cathryn), Dion S. Reid (Bridget), daughter, Cynthia S. Reid, brothers, Charles Brashears (Jan), David Brashears (Barbara), and grandchildren Kylie Reid and Cassidy Reid.

She grew up in the Eastport section of Annapolis and graduated from Annapolis High School in 1955 where she was a varsity cheerleader and an illustrator for the yearbook. She attended the Union Memorial Nursing School and retired as a nurse from Anne Arundel General Hospital.

Jean loved compiling her many photographs of trips and family. She enjoyed being active in the Magothy Manor Community Association, where she lived for many years in Arnold, MD. Dancing was a passion and she enjoyed the many occasions where she could show up in an original creative costume. An avid artist, she enjoyed sketching and watercolors. Jean enjoyed decorating her home continuously and had her home featured as the "Home of the Week" within the Annapolis Capital.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at All Hallows Parish, 864 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035.
