Marion Wood Gatton, 81, of Lexington Park, MD, passed away April 16, 2014 at her residence in Lexington Park, MD. She was born November 7, 1932, in Dameron, MD to the late Harry Eugene Wood and Catherine Hattie McKay Wood.

On November 11, 1950 she married her late husband James Aubrey Gatton. They spent 52 wonderful years together before his passing in May 2003. She was a long time member of the St. Michael's Ladies of Charity.

Marion is survived by her daughter, Pamela Gatton Cole (Chris) of Lexington Park, MD; her grandson, Casey Christopher Cole of Lexington Park, MD; her siblings, Charles A. Wood (Carolyn) of Dameron, MD and Margaret Greenwell (Sonny) of Hollywood, MD. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her siblings, Harvey E. Wood, Bernard F."Dick" Wood, Mary L. Hooper, Susie M. Wood, Evelyn F. Norris, John D. "Bussy" Wood, Ruth E. Buck, and Catherine A. Wood.

Family will receive friends for Marion's Life Celebration on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 16555 Three Notch Road, Ridge, MD 20680. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John "Wayne" Wood, Charles R. "Chuck" Wood, Kevin M. Wood, John O. Gatton, Michael A. Morgan, and Richard F. Chesser.
