Virginia Ruth Sewell, 91, of Brandywine, MD formerly of Mechanicsville, MD passed away peacefully March 8, 2014 at her residence. Born December 9, 1922 in Frederic, Wisconsin she was the daughter of Victor Hulteen and Maybelle Vader Hulteen.

She was a homemaker who loved gardening and sewing. She was an excellent typist and stenographer (shorthand writer). She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mechanicsville, MD. Virginia loved animals, and was surrounded by her wonderful pets throughout her life.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Bernard E. Sewell, Jr. and her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son, Bernie Sewell and his wife, Mary; grandchildren, Jacqueline Sewell, Candice Sewell and Madeline Alvarado (Walter Alvarado); cousin, Norma Greenwell and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for Virginia's Life Celebration on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:00a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 37707 New Market Turner Rd., Mechanicsville, MD 20659. Pastor Timothy McNutt will officiate. Interment will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10:00a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.

Memorial donations may be made in Virginia's name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund, 37707 New Market Turner Rd., Mechanicsville, MD 20659.
