Harold Anthony "Tony" Simpson Jr., 51, of Mooresburg, TN, formerly of Lusby and La Plata, MD, passed away on September 23, 2013 with his wife and son at his side. He was the orphan son of Harold Simpson, Sr. and Ethel Johnson Simpson Mudd.

He was a former lifelong resident of southern Maryland. He served in the US Army after graduating from La Plata High School.

Upon returning home with an honorable discharge, he began his lifelong career with Cozzens Construction Company.

He loved to fish and lived for football season so he could root for his favorite team, the Washington Redskins.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Pamela; his son-Tony, III, of the home; stepdaughter, Candace (Eric) Justice and granddaughter, Lilliona, all of Mooresburg, TN; his sister-Joy (Jerry) Cozzens of Prince Frederick, MD; Aunt Ethel Burch (who raised him) of La Plata, MD; and his niece and nephews, Jesi (Scott) Suder, Jerry (Elizabeth) Cozzens, III, Michael & Matthew Mason, and Jesse Cannady.

The interment service will be conducted at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 11:00am. Attendees are asked to arrive 45 minutes prior to the service. Driving directions can be obtained from the cemetery's website: http://www.arlingtoncemetery.mil
