Joseph Edwin Butler, 85, of Glen Burnie, MD passed away on February 13, 2014 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, MD. He was born on April 17, 1928 in Gardiner, NY to the late William Butler and the late Grace (Graff) Butler.

Joseph served in the Air Force from 1954-1959. He worked for NCR as a computer field technician for over 30 years.

He was an avid bicyclist into his 80's and enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life including boating, ham radio, computers, motorcycles, studying Spanish, and acquiring a real estate license.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his brother, John Butler of Long Island, NY.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise Beatrice (VanAlst) Butler of Glen Burnie, MD; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda Ann Prettyman and Tom Prettyman of Hollywood, MD.

Arrangements are being handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. There will be a committal service with military honors, at a later date, at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
