Mary Ellen Trainum, 77, of Owings, MD died in her home surrounded by family on January 26, 2014. She was born in Tazewell County, VA on June 22, 1936 to the late William and Rose Lambert Bailey.

She had lived in Owings for the past 40 years. Mary had owned a cleaning service and enjoyed making ceramics and playing slot machines and bingo.

She is survived by her son Mark Trainum and his wife, Danielle, of Owings; grandchildren, Kimberly Martin, Meagan Gorman and Melinda Rogers and great-grandchildren, Nathan Miller, Shane Martin, Gabriella O'Neil, C.J. Hardesty and Khloe Young.

Her husband Oscar (whom she wed in 1966), son, Vernon Evans, and infant daughter, Julie Carol Trainum predeceased her.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 10 am to 12 noon. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Rev. Ralph Nevin will officiate. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens.
