Michael Lee Showalter of Tall Timbers, Maryland formerly of La Plata, MD, passed away on January 19, 2014 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital, at the young age of 50.

He was born on December 18, 1963 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised by his parents Earl and Barbara Showalter in Accokeek, Maryland.

Mike was a contract superintendent for Lockheed Martin, until he retired in 2006. He loved motorcycles, crabbing, spending time with his 3 grandchildren and his computer, Hal. He loved playing poker and participated in The 2005 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas Nevada.. He also loved his dogs Zeus and Kallie

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Katrina Showalter, their two daughters Krystal Magana (Marcos), and Kasey Showalter. His parents Earl and Barbara Showalter. His younger brother Daryl Showalter. His three grandchildren; Aaron Welch, Bianka Magana, and Sebastian Magana. His Aunt Betty Lucas and numerous other family members.

A life celebration will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 3pm until time of service at 6 pm at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD. Pastor Dave Huffman will officiate. Interment will be private.
