Robert Emmett Weir of Waldorf, MD died on January 8, 2014 at his residence. He was 69 years old.

Mr. Weir was a civil engineer technician for 28 years with the Department of Defense (U.S. Government). He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served from 1961-1966 and a member of the American Legion Post 293 in Waldorf, MD. He was also a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. Following his retirement from the government, he worked for Car Quest in Waldorf. He was a Redskins and Ravens fan and was a trivia buff.

He is the son of the late David Joseph Weir and the late Elois Jean Cozzens Weir. He is survived by his son, Jason Weir; his sister, Rose Mary Harley and her husband Larry; and one niece, Vania Butler and husband David.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 10AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 3320 St Peter's Drive, Waldorf, MD 20601 with Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
