John E. Soper, 47, of Port Republic, Md. passed away on June 27, 2007, Beloved husband of Nova Tracy Soper of Port Republic, devoted father of Jessica D, and Michael D. Soper, both of Port Republic. Son of Doris E. Soper, of Port Republic and the late Francis W, Soper Sr., brother of Anna Lyvers of St. Leonard (Wayne), Bill Soper of Huntingtown, (Patty), Patricia Johnston, of Crestview, Fla. (Tom) and the late David M. Soper. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

John was born December 11, 1959 in Washington D.C. He grew up in Forestville, Md. where he enjoyed a happy childhood. He attended Prince George County Schools. After Graduating High School, John became a member of the Steamfitters Local 602. Johnny worked with his father and brothers in the HVAC trade. He enjoyed his profession, and was very good at it. He was known as "Mr. Fix It" to everyone. He could fix anything. Johnny spent many days on the river crabbing and boating. He enjoyed cookouts, fireworks, bowling and spending time with his family. He was a wonderful and loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle and a good friend to all.

The family received friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic MD on Friday June 29th from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services were held on Saturday June 30, 2007, 11 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Huntingtown, MD. Interment followed in Chesapeake Highlands, Port Republic, Md. Pallbearers were Bill Soper, Wayne Lyvers, Tom Johnston, Robert Cameron, Donnie Cameron, and Tommy Lego.
