Celestine Mary Koenig, 95, of Leonardtown, MD, formerly of Yankton, SD died December 1, 2013 at Chesapeake Shores Nursing Center, Lexington Park, MD. Born on February 12, 1918, she was the loving daughter of Joseph M. and Celestine G. Reimbold McNamara.

Sally was the loving wife of Edward E. Koenig whom she married on July 9, 1943 in Omaha, NE, and who preceded her in death.

She is preceded in death by her siblings; Herbert McNamara, Joseph McNamara, and Katherine Spitzenberger.

Sally is survived by her children; Angela M. Koenig of Chicago, IL, and Brian E. Koenig (Caroline) of California, MD, 2 grandchildren; Tanya and Jeffrey of California, MD.

Sally graduated from Bonesteel High School in Bonesteel, SC in 1936. She moved from Yankton, SD to St. Mary's County, MD in April, 2008. And was a homemaker and part time secretary; head of School Lunch program for Charles Mix Co. SD, retiring in 1985. Sally was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed walking, nature, creating art volunteering at nursing homes and hospitals.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 9:00AM to 10:00AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00AM with Father David Beaubien officiating. Interment will be private.
