Cloyce Isaac Spinks was born on February 16, 1942 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He departed his earthly life on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center following several months illness.

He graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, NC and relocated to St. Mary's County, Maryland in 1970. He taught school in St. Mary's County and Prince George County schools. Although he formally retired from education in 2000, he continued to educate youth and young adults while working as a volunteer in several community and civic organizations and was a licensed realtor for the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia.

He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife, Josephine Cecelia Spinks; sons Anthony R. Spinks (Doris) and Steven L. Spinks, Sr.; daughter-in-law Nina L Spinks; grandson Steven L. Spinks, Jr. (Greensboro, NC); sister, Gwendolyn Spinks Benton (Charles) (Charleston, SC).

Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. until time of service 8:00 p.m. at New Hope AME 12310 Washington Square, Waldorf, MD 20601. Members of Bee Hive Masonic Lodge and Pride of St. Mary's Lodge are asked to assemble at New Hope AME 12310 Washington Square by 6:00 P.M. on Thursday evening. A visitation and remembrance service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 7, 2013 in Greensboro, NC at Hargett Funeral Chapel with interment at Lakeview Memorial Park and Mausoleum.
