Francis "Eddie" Edward Bridgett, 75, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on November 22, 2013 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. He was born on April 16, 1938 in Dentsville, Maryland to the late Thornton Bridgett and the late Olive Harrison Bridgett of Charles County, Maryland.

Eddie married Helen Marie Welsh on December 16, 1969.

He worked as a foreman for Penn Line Tree Service.

He spent time in his yard cutting grass and chopping wood. He was known for his big smile and soft voice. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved children and grandchildren, and browsing estate sales with his daughter. Eddie was always available if someone needed help. He will be very much missed and always remembered.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was predeceased by one of his daughters, Helen Elaine Bridgett; one of his brothers, Thornton Bridgett, Jr. and one of his sisters, Virginia Corn.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Helen Marie Bridgett of Mechanicsville, MD; son, Francis Wayne Bridgett of Mechanicsville, MD; daughter, Sharon Marie Bridgett of Mechanicsville, MD; brothers, Lester, Calvin, and Lewis Bridgett; sister, Ella Mae Kernozek; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and his godchild, Debbie Sue.

Family and friends will be received for Eddie's Life Celebration on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, here at funeral home. Rev. James Chance will officiate. Interment will follow to Christ Church-Wayside, 13050 Rock Point Rd, Newburg, Maryland. Pallbearers will be Barry Guy, Casey Bridgett, Brian Goodrich, Tommy Bridgett, Edward Murphy, and Happy Wathen.
