Joseph Gardiner "Joe" McKay of Waldorf, MD died on October 29, 2013 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. He was 81 years old.

Joe was the president/owner of McKay Implements in Leonardtown, MD for 40 plus years and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and twice past president of the Hawthorne Country Club in La Plata, MD. He was past president of the Big Meadows Hunt Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus Bryantown Council. He loved to golf and hunt (geese and ducks). He attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD and was a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

He is the son of the late Joseph Gardiner McKay, Sr. and the late Viola Harrison McKay. He was also predeceased by one son, Thomas P. McKay and three daughters, Susan, Robin, and Mary McKay. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Berver McKay; one son, Joseph G. McKay, Jr.; and one grandchild, Annie Kay McKay.

Friends received on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2-5PM with Wake Service at 3:30 PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
