Pearl May Sanford of La Plata, MD (formerly of Oxon Hill, MD) died on October 17, 2013 at her residence. She was 93 years old. Pearl May Kerby Sanford was born on April 22, 1920 in Washington, DC.

She was the daughter of the late Mamie Barrett Kerby and the late Charles Kerby of Oxon Hill, MD. She grew up on the family farm with her parents, two brothers, Charles Kerby and Robert Kerby and her two sisters, Blanch Sanford and Violet Lawrence. She attended Eastern High School.

She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and foster mother. She devoted her life to her family and showered them with the gift of her love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her sister Blanch, and her beloved husband, Lloyd George Sanford.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita Cross and her husband Ken; her son, Ronald Sanford and his wife Diana; her grandchildren, Ken Cross, Tina America, Lorri Crabtree, Ronda Clift, and Diron Sanford; her step grandchildren, Chrissy Arbelaez and Gina Pappas; 11 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Friends were received on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 11AM until time of Funeral Service at 12PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel in La Plata, MD 20646 with Interment at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church Cemetery in Temple Hills, MD. Pallbearers: Ronald Sanford, Diron Sanford, Ben Crabtree, Larry Pappas, Travis Davison, and Paul Small.
