M. Winston Montgomery, 70, of Newburg, MD died on October 14, 2013 at his home.

He was born on July 19, 1943 in La Plata, MD to the late Theodore Montgomery and Alice Montgomery. He is also predeceased by his brother Donnely Montgomery, sister Kathleen Danielson, and brother-in-law Wallace Danielson, Sr.

He is survived by his wife Patricia "Patsy" Montgomery, daughters Melissa "Missi" Wood and her husband Kevin of Newburg, MD, Krissy Davidson and her husband Mark of Welcome, MD, grandchildren Caleigh Wood, Angela Davidson and Charles Neal Davidson. He is also survived by his niece Cindy Devane and her husband Bill and his nephew Wallace Danielson, Jr.

Winston was a member of the 10th District Volunteer Fire Department and the Charles County Rescue Squad doing some of the things he enjoyed most firefighting and helping people needing EMS care. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 82.

Most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren and spending time with family and friends in his back yard pub.

The family will receive friends on Thursday October 17, 2013 from 3 to 8 PM at the 10th District V.F.D. 7035 Poorhouse Rd., Indian Head, MD 20640. Fireman's prayers will be held at 7PM. Interment will be private.

Pallbearers will be Chris Thompson, Rick Bilbra, Gale Willett, Kenny Chaplin, Wayne Klinger, Wally Danielson and Michael Gordon. Honorary Bearers will be Carl Steinhauser, Bernie Dalcanton, Tommy Wright, Roger Bailey, Frank Hamilton, and Tommy Swann.
