Kayla Renee' Kiley, 14, of Charlotte Hall, MD and formerly of Waldorf, MD passed away peacefully in her mother's arms on October 5, 2013 at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She was born on February 27, 1999 in Clinton, MD to Kevin Daniel Kiley and Kathleen Ann (Bradshaw) Browne.
Kayla has battled cancer since she was six years old, but has stayed strong through it all. She graduated from Margaret Brent Middle School and was currently a freshman at Chopticon High School. Kayla taught Sunday school to the younger children at church. Kayla was also a dance instructor at Dreams Studio of Dance. She loved dancing and being pampered by getting her nails done, and singing with the Sam Grow Band. She was a loving and caring person, and a fighter for what she wanted most - "Just Keep Swimming" and being with family and friends. Kayla was also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. She was predeceased by her uncle, Jesse J. Kiley; aunts Tammy Lynne Bradshaw, Stephanie Browne; grandfather Donald Browne; and two of her great grandparents, Clifton Thorne and Gloria Cogan. Kayla is survived by her father, Kevin D. Kiley; her mother and stepfather, Kathleen A. Browne and Dustin Browne; three sisters, Kimberlee Kiley, Dakota Browne, and Lisa Browne; aunts & uncles, Shannah Johnson, Christopher Bradshaw, Dwayne Bradshaw, Heather Smith, Ralph Ballengee, III, Richard Eckloff, Gerald Kiley, III ; grandparents Karen Eckloff, Gerald Kiley, Bobbie Jo McNab, Tami Berguson and Steve Berguson, Bonnie Ballengee, Ralph Ballengee, Jr., Lynda Mack, and Percy Bradshaw, Jr.; great grandparents, Edith Kathleen Schmitz, Janet Abernathy, Percy Bradshaw, Sr., Kitty Immel, Clifton Thorne, and Gloria Cogan; and a host of many other relatives and friends. Family and friends will be received for Kayla's Life Celebration on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at New Life Church in White Plains, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM at New Life Church. Pastor J.D. Walker will officiate. Interment will follow to Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
