Mary Agnes "Aunt Agnes" Shaikewitz, 98, of Mechanicsville, MD and formerly of Baltimore, MD died September 27, 2006 in the Waldorf Health Care Center. Born January 9, 1908 in Oraville, MD, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Mary E. Knott Burch. She was loving wife of the late Morris G. Shaikewitz whom she married in Baltimore, MD.

She is survived by six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her children Joseph Morgan and Richard Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her siblings William Burch, Thurella Quade, James Burch, Daisy Copsey, Lily Copsey, Dewey Burch and Margaret Burch.

Mrs. Shaikewitz moved to Baltimore to work in the defense industry as she worked for Glenn L. Martin Co, AKA Martin Marietta Corporation, working on B-29 Bombers in WWII and after her retirement she moved back to St. Mary's County. Aunt Agnes loved to compose poems and songs, play cards and Bingo and word puzzles. She was always there to lend a helping hand and to support her family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 2, 2006 from 5 – 8 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where prayers will be said at 7:00 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Timothy Baer officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Joseph Morgan, Milton Copsey, Frank Copsey, Kenny Hall, Robert Copsey and Donald Knott.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymond Morgan, Pat Howe, Norman Morgan, James Morgan and Jerry Clements.
