Col. Donald Eugene Songer, of Solomons, Maryland, passed away at his residence on September 26th, 2013.
In March, 2013, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda M. Songer. Don left us on the 71st anniversary of their marriage. Colonel Songer was a decorated veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He loved his country, his beloved United States Air Force, flying airplanes, working in his wood shop, and was an avid golfer. Don and Wanda moved to the Asbury Solomons Community in 2000, and lived in Colorado Springs, CO for the previous thirty years. Don retired from the Air Force in 1970, having served in the Army Air Corps, the Iowa National Guard, and the USAF since enrolling as a cadet in1942.
