On September 28, 2013, Joyce Mae Bowie went home to be with the Lord. She was born on March 25, 1938 in Oxon Hill, MD to parents Bernard and Pansy Fletcher. She loved the Lord and going to church and teaching her little angels in Sunday School at Maryland Point Baptist Church where she and her husband Alton served since the Church began.

Preceding her in death were her mother and father Bernard and Pansy Fletcher and her brothers, Douglas and Walter Fletcher. She is survived by her husband Alton Bowie; her sister, Barbara Hoover; and her children, Alton Bowie II and wife Sue, Debbie Gilroy and husband Bobby, and Sharon Bowie. She is also survived by six grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. There will be an additional visitation on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 10AM until time of Funeral Service at 11AM at Maryland Point Baptist Church, 11790 MD Point Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662. Interment to follow at Nanjemoy Baptist Church Cemetery.
