Mildred Dye "Millie" Carpenter of Waldorf, MD died on September 25, 2013 at her residence with Hospice. She was 75 years old.

Millie was a pre-school teacher for 13 years with First Baptist Church of Waldorf and a long-time devoted helper with her church as well as being a choir member. She was a volunteer for many years with Meals on Wheels and was known as a loving homemaker to her children and grandchildren.

She is the daughter of the late Clarence Sheffey Dye and the late Hazel Emma Settle Dye.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gerald Carpenter; two sons, Mark E. Carpenter and wife Kamala and Barry W. Carpenter and wife Christie; one daughter, Lori D. Peters and husband Greg; two brothers, Joe and Douglas Dye; and four sisters, Harriett Cole, Mona Hamm, Nancy Mason, and Lou Emma Jones. She is also survived by nine grandchildren.

Friends were received on Sunday, September 29, 2013 from 2-4PM at First Baptist Church of Waldorf and where Funeral Services were held on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11AM. Interment was at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD. Pallbearers: Mark, Barry, Brett, Cole, and Ian Carpenter, Matthew, Philip, and Nathan Davis.
