Barbara J. Aleshire, 79, of Port Tobacco, MD passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 after an extended illness. Born on November 20, 1933 to the late Theodore Fox and Edith (Cox) Fox.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edgar Thomas Aleshire.

She leaves behind four children; Belita Ramakrishna, Wendy Fuchs, Lorie Aleshire, and Patti Boling. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, as well as her life-long best friend, JoAnne (Tottie) Hill.

She was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

Visitation will be Friday, September 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. in La Plata. A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
