Ruene Marie (Drew) Camper 75, of Lexington Park formerly of Waldorf passed away August 18, 2013, born April 26, 1938 in Washington DC. She was the daughter of the late Charles Preston Drew and the late Ruene Marcella (Norris) Russell. Her birth father died when she was very young and her mom remarried the late James Russell. Ruene married her late husband Elbert (Reds) Camper May 18, 1969.

Ruene graduated from St. Cecilia's Academy in 1957. She had many jobs over the years. She worked at AGS and Harper Graphics as a proofreader and a night auditor at the Holiday Inn in Waldorf.

Ruene loved her Chihuahua's and had many over the years. She loved to play bingo and would drag anyone she could along. She loved horses and collected many statues of them over the years.

She is survived by her children; Daniel Drew Wenk (Donna) of Lexington Park, Peggy Ann Wenk Parker (Ron) of La Plata, Joseph (Mike) Michael Wenk Sr. of Florida, 8 grandchildren; Edward (Buddy) Wenk (Christi) of Leonardtown; Jonathan Wenk (Lisa) of Laurel, DE; Danielle Wenk of Lexington Park; Gina (Messineo) Greene of Waldorf; Tonya Thompson of Ridge; Joey Thompson, and David Thompson (Angela) of La Plata; Joseph Wenk Jr. of Florida; 8 great grandchildren; her sister Mary (Suggie) Cave of Leonardtown and a host of other relatives and friends such as Sharon Marshall and Lee Pickerel.

In addition to her parents and her husband Ruene was preceded in death by her ex-husband and father of her children Joseph Taft Wenk Jr., her daughters Diane Messineo and Marcy Wenk, her grandson Michael Anthony Jr., her great-grandson Deiondre Thompson, and her sister Delores (Sis) Smith.

Family will receive friends for Ruene's Life Celebration on Monday, August 26 from 5 until 8 p. m. at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A service will be held Tuesday, August 27 at 12:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home Chapel with Father McMullen officiating. Interment will follow to Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD.

Pallbearers will be; Buddy Wenk, Jon Wenk, Joey Thompson, David Thompson, Ron Parker, and Duncan MacPherson.
