![]() Marvin Ardell Raley, 58 of Lexington Park, MD died August 2, 2013 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. Born September 20, 1954 in Patuxent River, MD, he is the son of Burton Benedict Raley of Lexington Park, MD and the late Frances Florine Hayden Raley. Marvin is a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County. He is a graduate of Great Mills High School.
On September 30, 1983, he married his beloved wife, Mary Lee (Lee Lee) Raley. Together they celebrated thirty wonderful years together. He was employed by Burch Oil Company as a Car Wash Manager. He was a softball enthusiast and loved all aspects of the sport. He spent many happy years playing, coaching and umpiring the game. One of his favorite destinations was the Brass Rail Sports Bar. He always cheered on his favorite teams, the Washington Redskins, the Baltimore Orioles and the Maryland Terrapins. Marvin loved his Itty Bitty and "kids", Cheya (aka: Girlie), Katie (aka: Boo) and newest addition to the canine family, Annie. Marvin is survived by his wife of thirty years, Mary Lee Raley; his siblings, Deborah Sue Abell (Norbert) of Chaptico, MD, David Ross Raley (Sally) of Lexington Park, MD, Judy Gale Bean of Great Mills, MD, Lillian Marie Clarke of Great Mills, MD, Betty Jo Tennyson (Donnie) of Dameron, MD, and Burton Benedict Raley II (Chrissy) of Valley Lee, MD; his godchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he is also preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Darlene Connelly. Family will receive friends for Marvin's Life Celebration on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m., with prayers recited at 7 p.m., at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Funeral Service will be celebrated by Reverend John Ball on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Bean, Dickie Gatton, Jack Tippett, Kevin Squires, James Hockett, and John Connelly. Honorary pallbearers are Marvin's beloved "softball family." Memorial contributions may be made to Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
