Betty Jean Fowler of La Plata, MD died on July 25, 2013 at Assisted Living at Hawkins Gate Road in La Plata, MD. She was 81 years old.

Betty was an office supervisor for Acacia Life Insurance Co. in Washington, DC for 30 plus years. She was a member of the La Plata United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her waterfront summer home in Avenue, MD for many years and being with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doing needle crafts, crocheting, and Bingo. She was a long-time past member of the Clinton American Legion.

She is the daughter of the late James Jerome Burch and the late Florence Cecelia Hill Burch. She is also predeceased by her late husband, John Thomas Fowler.

She is survived by two daughters: Nancy Turner and her husband Al and Donna Lamoreaux and her husband Steve. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Timothy, Daryl, and Craig and four great-grandchildren: Tyler, Chase, Bryce, and Aidan.

Friends received on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 and where Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11AM. Interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.
