Benjamin "Warren" Moore, Sr. of White Plains, Maryland died on July 18, 2013 at his residence. He was 95 years old. Born in White Plains, MD, he was the son of the late James Edgar Moore and the late Loretta Adele Willett Moore.

He enlisted in the US Army in 1940 and served as a heavy truck driver, maintained the vehicle motor pool, served as an Ammunition NCO, and served as a Military Police Officer. During his military service, he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1945.

He met his wife Hazel Marie Meyer Moore while he was stationed at Fort Meade, South Dakota, and they married in Maryland.

Prior to his enlistment in the Army, he worked at J. P. Ryan and Brothers General Store in Waldorf, MD as a Clerk, and as an ambulance driver and assistant for the funeral home which operated in conjunction with the General Store.

After his discharge from the Army, Warren worked for EXXON Corporation as a plant manager in Solomons, MD, and as a fuel truck driver until his retirement in 1978.

After his retirement, he enjoyed life on the family farm in White Plains farming, riding his tractor, and spending time with his wife and family. He and Hazel enjoyed traveling, dancing, and socializing with their many dear friends.

He was a member of the Brotherhood of Masons, a member of the American Legion, and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

Warren was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his sister, Dorothy Moore Mellinger.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Hazel; two sons, James W. Moore and wife Donna of Austin, TX, and Benjamin W. "Skip" Moore, Jr. and wife Carolyn of White Plains, MD; grandchildren, Scottie, Karla, Michael, Stephanie, Jennifer, Clayton, and Alaina; great-grandchildren, Kristyne, Ryan, Rachel, Marina, Miranda, Katelyn, Shelby, Kayla, Kyle, Andrew, Olivia, Darla, and Miranda Marie; and one great-great grandchild, Kaleb. He is also survived by one uncle, Horace Willett and wife Dorothy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 10AM until Funeral Service at 12PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD. Interment to follow at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, 4535 Piney Church Road, Waldorf, MD 20604.
