Grace B. Thomas, 77, of La Plata, Md. on July 15, 2013.

She was born on July 29, 2013 to the late George and Margaret Farrell in Washington, DC. She is also predeceased by her husband Alfred Thomas, son William Barbara, daughter Diane Travers, brothers Charlie, John, George, Jr., Michael, Arthur, sisters Martha and Mary.

She is survived by her daughter Marguerite Gonzalez (Jose), grandchildren Jonathan Reid, Jessica Hanbury, Holly Gonzalez, and Victor Travers, great grandchildren Breon-Leigh, Hannah, Devon, Chloe, Emory Grace, Harper, and Dalton. She is also survived by many loved nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.

Grace worked at Newspapers all of her working career in the Washington DC area. Starting at the Daily News from 1967 to its closing in 1972, then at the Evening Star until it's closing in 1981. From 1981 to her retiring as an Advertising Executive at the Washington Post until 1999.

The family will receive friends on Thursday July 18th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday July 19th, 10am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Plata, Md. Interment to follow at the Resurrection Cemetery Clinton, MD.
