Cyndi was an active member of Good Samaritan Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, served on the board of Rays of Light Preschool, was involved in support or leadership of many other activities, and was widely known for her fund raising chocolate chip cookies. In addition to her mother, Dorothy Hamblin of Whittier, CA, she is survived by her husband of 29 years, John Scheffler; two daughters, Carol Scheffler of Santa Clara, CA, and Amy Scheffler of Allston, MA; sister, Andrea Hamblin, and sister-in-law, Nora Tesmond of Chicago, IL.
