![]() U Son Scovil, age 58, of Chesapeake Beach, MD died suddenly on June 24, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Osan, South Korea on May 7, 1955 to Chang Il and Kim Hae (Wol) Yung. U received her education in South Korea and immigrated to the United States in 1979, settling in Virginia Beach, VA.
She married Douglas H. Scovil, Jr. on August 25, 1984 in Little Creek, VA. The couple moved frequently because of Douglas' Naval career, and has resided in Chesapeake Beach since 1999. U was employed as a retail sales clerk for A.A.F.E.S., Army Air Force Exchange System, and N.E.X., Navy Exchange. She primarily was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father Chang Il Yung. U is survived by her husband Douglas H. Scovil, Jr., daughters Amy Scovil of Baltimore, MD and Sharon Grummer and her husband Jeremy of Colesville, CA, grandchildren Gideon and Bruno Grummer and her mother Kim Hae Jackson of Virginia Beach, VA.
