![]() Grace Stevenson Alexander, 80 of Leonardtown, MD died June 21, 2013 at her residence.
Born November 10, 1932 in Monongahela, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Stevenson and Aneta (Micheli) Stevenson. Grace, wife of a Naval Aviator and a homemaker, moved with her husband, children and various canines 21 times in 30 years of Navy life. She made each new house a home for her family to feel comfortable and safe. She loved to entertain family, friends and colleagues. She could with ease prepare a formal dinner for colleagues, a fun family holiday meal or picnic, make Mickey Mouse pancakes for the grandkids, a fish fry on a campfire in the Rocky Mountains or a full eggs, bacon, and toast breakfast on a boat in the middle of the bay. She made everyone feel welcome and you never left hungry! Most of all, she was our rock. She was always there when we needed her, she fought for us and she was our biggest fan. She loved her family and she devoted her life to caring for them all. She taught us grace, poise, selflessness, and strength. She was amazing. Grace is survived by her children, John Alexander (Sandi) of Culpepper, VA, Deborah Relator (Antero) of Leesburg, VA, and Michele Spalding (John) of Leonardtown, MD; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her parents, Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Howard Wills Alexander, USN, daughter, Linda Hopkins and brother, Donald Stevenson. Family will receive friends for Grace's Life Celebration on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
