![]() James McGuire Stine, Sr., 93, of Cobb Island, MD died on May 31, 2013.
He was born on November 8, 1919 in Rock Point, MD to the late Joseph Stine, Sr. and Ida Catherine Stine. He is also predeceased by his wife of 43 years Agnes Marie Stine, brothers Joseph Stine, Charles Stine, Adrian Stine, sisters Cecelia Norris, Hilda Lomax and Irene Coulby. He is survived by his sons James M. Stine, Jr., Michael A. Stine, Victor J. Stine, Vincent G. Stine, Craig P. Stine and daughter Melody S. Knott. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He attended Glasva School. Served in the U.S. Army as a tanksman in WW II seeing combat in Italy, Southern France and the Rhine Land. He worked as a plumber for the Charles County Government for most of his life retiring after 31 years. He was the first Fire Chief for the Cobb Island VFD, loved gardening, activities with his family and the water. The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 4, 2013 at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD 20646 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with prayers at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday 10 AM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Issue, MD. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
