Robert William McGinty, 59, of Lexington Park, MD died on May 25, 2013 at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, MD.

Born November 24, 1953 in Arlington, VA, he was the son of and Dolores (Heidenreich) McGinty and the late Winnett McGinty.

After moving from Cobb Island, Robert had been a resident of St. Mary's County for the past 20 years. Robert enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, watching the Washington Nationals, racing stock cars, restoring cars, collecting antiques, and especially, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his wife, Linda L. Fry; his children, Catherine Lockard (Jeff), of Lexington Park, MD, and William Robert McGinty (Taryn), of Lexington Park, MD; his siblings, Laura McGinty, of Chadds Ford, PA, Nancy Dodd (Bill), of Mira Loma, CA, Peggy Soucy (Denis), of Woodbridge, VA, Michael McGinty, of Cobb Island, MD, and Mary McGinty (Paul), of Graham, NC; and his grandchildren, Penelope and Denyse McGinty, of Lexington Park, MD. Robert was predeceased by his father, Winnett McGinty.

Family will receive friends for Robert's Life Celebration on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. Prayers will be recited by Pastor Linda Purdy at 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
