John Gregory Trossbach, affectionately known as "Mr. T", 77 of Valley Lee, MD died May 20, 2013 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital.

Born October 30, 1935 in Beachville, MD he was the son of the late Joseph Eugene Trossbach and Lillian M. (Biscoe) Trossbach.

John served in the Army National Guard from 1953 until 1956. He was an auto mechanic for Dyson's Service Center and also worked for Blazer's Construction in Great Mills, MD. If anyone ever needed a mechanics opinion, he was always there to lend a hand and his knowledge.

John was a member of the Southern Maryland Antique Power Association and a former member of the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department. John enjoyed gardening, attending tractor pulls and crabbing with family and friends. He spent a lot of time restoring his antique John Deere tractors and his antique Dodge truck. His favorite pastime of all was enjoying time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

John is survived by his children, Mary "Ginger" Long (Kenny) of Hollywood, MD, Cindy M. Springer (Andy) of Valley Lee, MD, John G. Trossbach, Jr. (Ann) of Dameron, MD, David E. Trossbach (Barbara) of California, MD, Michael L. Trossbach of Drayden, MD, William K. Trossbach (Missy) of Lexington Park, MD, and Matthew W. Trossbach (Tammy) of Lexington Park, MD; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; siblings, Mary L. Sivak of Lexington Park, MD, Ida A. Lacey of Avenue, MD, Joseph E. Trossbach, Jr. of Chestertown, MD, Phillip I. Trossbach of Avenue, MD, Robert B. Trossbach of Bushwood, MD, Thomas R. Trossbach of Dameron, MD, and James D. Trossbach of St. Inigoes, MD.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cecelia (Quade) Trossbach; and sister, Vera Lathroum.

Family will receive friends for John's Life Celebration on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 22800 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Ray Schmidt at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
