Mary Eunice Jenkins of White Plains, MD died on May 15, 2013 at Civista Medical Center in La Plata, MD. She was 87 years old.

Daughter of the late Thomas M. Middleton and the late Naomi L. Mudd Middleton. Also predeceased by her husband, Joseph Wallace Jenkins.

Survived by two daughters, Elaine J. Jenkins Burdette of White Plains, MD and Teresa M. Jenkins and her husband Steve Nelson of Punta Gorda, FL; and one sister, Janet Middleton Elliott and her husband Harold of Cobb Island, MD.

Mrs. Jenkins was married to her husband Joseph Wallace Jenkins for 56 years, and lived for 66 years on a farm in White Plains, MD, raising two children. Mother, wife, homemaker, and farm manager, she kept daily journals of all crops grown and harvested on the farm, which were primarily tobacco, wheat, and corn.

She loved mystery novels, movies, gardening and canning vegetables, baseball, yard sales, and collecting jewelry. She worked for a short time at Emergency Hospital in Washington, DC where she literally ran into Eleanor Roosevelt. She is a descendent of Dr. Samuel Mudd. She continues to live in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.

Visitation on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 9AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 St. Mary's Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646 with Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, MD 20735.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
