Charles "Charlie" William Shorback, 69, of Lexington Park, MD died May 14, 2013 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, MD.

Born September 28, 1943 in St. Mary's County, MD, he was the son of the late William Shorback and Eleanor Margaret Trossbach Shorback.

Charlie was a graduate of St. Michael's School. On May 4, 1969, he married his beloved wife, Doris Frances Shorback. Together they spent 44 wonderful years together. He was employed for over forty years as a maintenance supervisor for Larry Millison. He enjoyed fishing and cheering on the Baltimore Ravens. He also enjoyed travelling to the Blue Ridge Mountains. He loved spending his time with his family, especially his grandson, who was his pride and joy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Robert Shorback of Las Vegas, NV and Laura Bowles (Danny) of Dameron, MD; his brothers, Lawrence Shorback (Aurora) of Hollywood, MD and Louis Shorback (Laura) of Wilmington, DE; and his grandson, Evan Bowles.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph Shorback.

Family will receive friends for Charlie's Life Celebration on Thursday, May16, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 16566 Three Notch Road, Ridge, MD 20680. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Lee Fangmeyer at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 17, 2013 with interment will following in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gordon Aldridge, Garrell Mercer, Nicky Carroll, John Briscoe, Sr., Eddie Adams, and Eddie Willenborg. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be David Hansen, Donny Willenborg and David Willenborg.
