Larramont "Larry" Howard Grant, 85, of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Upper Marlboro, MD died peacefully at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall, MD on March 14, 2013. Born September 11, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio he was the son of Louis Howard Grant and Gertrude Burns Grant.

Larry retired from the U.S. Navy as an Electronics Technician/Chief Petty Officer 1st Class. After his service in the Navy, he worked as a mail processing mechanic for the United States Postal Service. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed photography, astronomy, and writing.

Predeceased by his parents; wife, Flora "Flo" Emma Grant, brothers, George L. Cooper and Richard L. Grant.

He is survived by his children, Francis Paul Grant (Anita), Elizabeth "Beth" Ann Curtis (David), Cathleen G. Grant and Harry Louis Grant (Tammi); grandchildren Jason Grant, Nicholle Grant, Patricia Grant, David Grant, Jacqueline Curtis, Ryan Curtis, Joshua Curtis, Ashlie Lanier, Hannah Grant, and Chloe Grant; great-grandchildren , C.J., Aiden, Keiondre, Kentrell, Adriyanna, and Lanaiya; sister-in-law Marie Paul; nephew David and nieces Lynn, Barbara, Mary Jo, Patty, Vicki, Carol and Laurie.

The family will receive friends for Larry's Life Celebration on Wednesday, March 27 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:30p.m. Pastor Paul Goodwin will officiate. Interment will take place Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 3:00p.m.
