Doris Gertrude Welch 81, of Benedict, MD, died March 12, 2013 at Prince George's Hospital in Cheverly, Maryland. Born February 7, 1932 in Washington, DC, She was the daughter of the late John M Richards and the late Carrie G Richards.

Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and her dog, Joy. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Doris was predeceased by her parents, her husband Adolph F Welch, her son Donald F Welch, and her brothers John M Richards Jr. and William N. Richards.

She is survived by her son Robert Welch (Teresa), grandchildren Jason Welch (Lindsey), Amy Welch (Darin), Brian Welch (Tina) and 4 great-grandchildren Lacie, Addison, Tyler and Bianka.

A visitation will be on Sunday, March 17, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM with prayers at 6:00PM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10:00AM at St. Francis de Sales Church, 7815 Benedict Avenue, Benedict, MD 20612. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3165 Mattawoman-Beantown Road, Waldorf, MD 20604.
