Angela Michelle James, 58, of Bowie, Maryland, formerly of Waldorf, surrounded by the love of her family, departed this life for one eternal on Thursday, March 7, 2013.

Angie, as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was born on December 2, 1954 to the late Elaine and Kirby Proctor. She was educated in the District of Columbia Public Schools. Angie held various jobs and volunteered her time to the Health Care field. She and her sister, Trudy had a business together in Community Outreach that dealt with helping mentally ill patients. She loved helping people in need.

Angie will definitely be missed. She was a person who always had a beautiful smile and a great sense of humor. She loved to entertain family and friends in her home, but also loved "girls movie night" at her sister, Trudy's house. She also enjoyed going to the disco and spending time with her son's bike club "The Road Wolves" but most of all she had a great love for food. Additionally, Angie enjoyed vacationing and spending time abroad with family and friends; although, one of her favorite places to spend time was Charlestown Raceways Casino in West Virginia.

Left to lovingly cherish her memory is her husband of thirty-nine years, Gary Carroll; son, Sherman James and future daughter-in-law, Deena; only grandchild, Chastity James; sister, Truvella Carroll (Stevie); brother, William (Rodney) Proctor; devoted cousin, Barbara Johnson; devoted friend, Sharon Arrington; three god children, Stuart Prince, Hampton Price, Jr. and Eraina Hill; aunt, Mae Hancock; uncle, John Thompson and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and very close friends.

A Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 14th from 9am until time of Service 11 am at Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to Capital Caring, 9200 Basil Court, Suite 200, Largo, Maryland 20774 (www.capitalcaring.org).

Arrangements provided by Thornton Funeral Home.
