Frances Ann Keiffer, 85, a resident of Solomons Nursing Center passed away February 18, 2013. She was born December 25, 1927 in Washington, D.C. to Ralph Somerville and Sarah Naomi (DePue) Morrison.

Frances was raised in Bethesda, MD and graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in 1945. She then attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO where she received her Associate's degree.

Frances married F. Samuel Keiffer on July 10, 1948 and they lived in Bethesda, and Potomac until moving to Owings in 1974 and Dunkirk in 1978. She and Sam were later divorced and Frances has lived in Solomons for the past 20 years.

She was a travel agent and owned and operated Bay Country Travel in Dunkirk from 1975 to 1994. In her leisure time, Frances enjoyed reading and she also loved nature, especially the Chesapeake Bay.

She is survived by four children Russell L. Keiffer of Solomons, MD, Bruce S. Keiffer and wife Debbie of Lutz, FL, John S. Keiffer and wife Bonnie of Southport, NC and Sarah K. "Sally' Helmbold and husband Rick of Frederick, MD; and her former husband F. Samuel Keiffer. Also surviving are five grandchildren and a brother Robert Morrison of Queenstown, MD.

Frances was preceded in death by a brother Ralph Morrison.
