Mrs. Sheriff was a secretary for Naval Research Labs/United States Government for eight years and a member of St. Barnabus Episcopal Church. Prior to her work with the government, she used to work at her father's business which was Ted's Seafood in Waldorf, MD and was a long-time hairdresser.

She loved knitting, sewing, was an avid Redskin and NASCAR fan.

She is the daughter of the living Bobby T. Brown and the living Betty Helm Brown.

She is predeceased by one daughter: Jennifer Sheriff and one late brother: Ted Brown.

She is survived by her parents: Bobby and Betty Brown of Able, MD; her husband of 37 years: Thomas D. Sheriff; two brothers: Robby F. (Geri) Brown of Faulkner, MD and Sam I. (Becky) Brown of Waldorf, MD; one sister: Ruth A. (John) Goudie of La Plata, MD; and one grandchild: Jacob Chinault of Charlotte Hall, MD.

Her visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 from 2- 4PM and 6-8PM with Funeral Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646). Clergy will be Rev. Harry Stock. Her interment will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11AM at MD Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD.
